review 1: This book was a fascinating insight into the life of a child of hoarders. It's one thing to see a TV show with the physical evidence of this enormous, life altering problem, but it is really heartbreaking to read of the impact on a child who grows up in such an environment. I commend the author, not just for relating her story in a compelling manner, but for creating a happy and junk free life for herself. Clearly, it wasn't easy.
review 2: My perspective on this book is very specific because there is some hoarding in my family. Reading about a much, much more dramatic experience than my own gave me some really useful perspective. It's tremendously inspirational to read about how Miller has made a success of her own life despite the dysfunction in her fami... morely of origin. Miller captured the love in her family, regardless of the problems, and that rang extremely true. less
