review 1: I didn’t think I would enjoy this book when early on Krista meets the mystery man she has run with in the local supermarket and he introduces himself with “my name is Ishmael” and she doesn’t make a comment about the white whale. Anyone would, but even worse she is supposedly a literature major. As the story goes on though I found her and her life more and more interesting and by the end I kind of missed her and wondered how she is doing these days.
review 2: This book sounded like it would be right up my alley, exactly the kind of book that I would be interested in. The fact that I felt so "meh" about it afterward speaks to the lackluster execution. It was okay. I feel mean saying this, considering she is a real person, but I found her hard to relate
... moreto, materialistic/superficial, and, well, pretty boring. Big adventures like the one she describes in Libya are wasted on people like this. She has a total double standard for what she expects her husband to put up with and what she's willing to be accepting of herself. The first chapter (free Kindle book sample) was great. This book is not a story; it is simply the author telling us a "bunch of stuff" that happened. less

Vaguely interesting. But slow moving and a little boring.
