review 1: Por lo general cada cierto tiempo descanso de la lectura desafiante intelectualmente o de investigación social y antropológica para leer obras mas "relajadas" y refrescantes, rara vez leo un libro que no me hayan recomendado mis amistades con autoridad, ya que no me gusta leer cualquier cosa, hay que cuidar lo que se consume. Este libro fue para mi una grata sorpresa (lo ví anunciado en kindle y me dio curiosidad, al yo mismo durante la universidad haber hecho atletismo), con un lenguaje diferente al que estoy acostumbrado, refleja grandes valores del ser humano, trata casi todas las áreas que valen la pena mencionar, es un libro escrito fluidamente que "atrapa" al lector de principio a fin, el testimonio de Lopez es fascinante en todos los aspectos, me ha hecho llorar... more mas de una vez e incluso reír otras tantas, una montaña rusa de emociones siempre con el sentido sobrenatural de la vida.Altamente recomendable, sobre todo para adolescentes (de todas las edades).
review 2: I have read 'Running for my life' by Lopez Lomong the Sudanese man who escaped the killing fields of Sudan and became an Olympic athlete and American citizen. His abiding hope and faith in God, protection by angels, being fed and watered by the hands of God, guided and led to speak of his journey is enlightening. He gained a degree, won medals at the Olympics, works for World Vision and 4 South Sudan to strive to improve the lives of other Sudanese from gaining clean water, ensuring others can gain education, helping others to enable themselves to feed themselves, creating a small clinic to ensure children get inoculation from basic diseases and saving young lives. Striving to empower others and help others have better lifestyles, in spite of being successful, shows his humanity and humility, love of others and caring nature. I admire his sheer hard work and determination and applaud him in many spheres. Inspirational... less
