review 1: Lyssa Chapman is the ninth child of infamous bounty hunter, Dwayne "The Dog" Chapman, and is most famously known for her bounty hunting escapades on A&E's show, Dog the Bounty Hunter. She brings her fans and the general public a memoir that reveals her past secrets and terrifying events that affected who she is today. Lyssa's memoir will leave many people horrified. To the outside world, it appears 'Baby Lyssa' has everything she could ever want and has lived a good life. But that is all a facade.Lyssa produces a very raw story about her struggles and terrifying ordeals with having to endure past mental, physical and sexual abuse at the hands of family members, family friends and strangers. She also discusses her struggles with addiction and her road to recovery, as well as... more how she is healing from her abusive past. Lyssa writes and recalls very difficult subjects, including talking about the very taboo secret about why family members didn't/don't like her, and because of this, Lyssa is an incredibly brave young woman. I give her the utmost kudos for telling her story.
review 2: I have read many autobiographies, biographies and memoirs, but I have never read one like this! My husband watches Dog and I had been very curious about the family dynamic so I grabbed this book. It was such a raw, nasty, sincere and honest look into the life of Lyssa and the family. I have a hard time comprehending how parents could allow their children to live the way they lived...but then again I've never been in those shoes. How any of them have grown up and become productive citizens is amazing and a true testament to God's grace. While writing the book Lyssa didn't candy-coat anything from her experiences to how she viewed her standing in the family. I found it so brave of her to be so brutally honest about not only what she experienced, but how she viewed her standing in the family. I wonder how the others felt about what she shared? I found her to be so very sincere in her desires and dreams to become a better person and mother. She is a very inspiring individual and although I have not experienced the things she has I still felt motivated and uplifted after reading her story. Most people would love to hear from or meet "stars" just because of their status. After reading this book I would just like to meet her to hug her neck, have lunch just because I think she is remarkable. less

For all the "drama" in her life, she seems to have grown into a wonderful woman.
