review 1: Unless your child has endless patience, this book is not for you. Dubuc's art is the focus here - actually the only focus - and the joke of animals dressing up wears thin.Had the paging been different, where the reader sees the animal in his/her costume, can guess what the costume is, then turns the page to find out, this might have worked well. Instead, it is all in the same spread and there is no build up.Long with no payoff.
review 2: All the animals are invited to a masquerade, which means everyone needs to choose a costume! "The elephant went disguised as ... a parrot. The parrot went disguised as ... a turtle." And so the pattern continues, revealing the newly garbed animal at the page turn. Just when the reader starts to get bored, Dubuc surprises with
... more an irreverant switch-up. Surprising character appearances (Little Red Riding Hood, a three-headed monster) and author commentary ("The grumbly rhinoceros, who is actually very nice...") similarly keep things interesting. Pure silliness. less

I agree with the other reviews: much too long for a child's attention span, and the reader's arms!

I initially liked the concept but it grew tiresome as the book went on.

It would be good for my Korean family. A lot of new nouns for animals!

Dubuc's books = great concepts, lovely illustrations, and zany laughs.

Cute book with animals disguising themselves as another animal.
