review 1: I listened to this figuring that my naive understanding of what the job of a Navy SEAL is like was probably wrong and that this story would correct that. Well, it turns out that, according to this guy anyway, the SEALs are pretty much just like you'd expect. And the mission to get Bin Laden went off pretty much the way you would imagine it would go. I found all the carping about bureaucrats and rules to be off-putting too. It's pretty obvious why the restrictions on what they could do in Afghanistan were put in place. If this guy can't see the big picture, it really makes me wonder about these guys in general.
review 2: This was an interesting read but the author never really states what information was coming out that was incorrect and what the real story was
... morethat went along with it. This reads like he is upset with the Obama administration for not giving them all the props for taking out UBL and upset that Obama was taking credit. I respect the military and what this team did. Soldiers who did far more than this in the Pacific theater of WWII and put up with much more hardship never got accolades either. E.B. Sledge makes this very clear in "With the Old Breed." less
