review 1: Describing this book is a little difficult as it seems so damn ridiculous and yet is one of the funniest books I've read! Matthew Gasteier has a blog on which he talks shit to all those cute animal pictures dominating the internet so that they know that their plots of world domination will not succeed. See, ridiculous? And so damn funny. The book really makes me want to check out the blog on a more regular basis. I can't count the number of times it made me laugh out loud to see him taking the animals down a peg or two (especially since he clearly has such a hard time denying their cuteness) and this was definitely a very quick read. You do have to have a pretty dark sense of humor and be very comfortable with profanity but if those are two of your qualities, this is a mus... moret-read!
review 2: Who hasn't wanted a cute and cuddly zoo baby of their very own since March of the Penguins graced the movie screen? It's fact (or, pure spectulation) that email chains containing adorable and seemingly-innocent animals accompanied by promises of everything from a better day to riches beyond your dreams increased 408.73% after the documentary won an Oscar. Gasteier has been the only person to take a stand against the "power-hungry cute-mongers". His blog quickly became a favorite site, inspiring this book. Feel free to laugh at Gasteier's humor, as no animals were hurt due to the publication of this book. Special thanks to Elizabeth Schley for introducing me to a gut-buster that is a quick read. less
