review 1: The drug parts are great...ideas and writing on memory and addiction are insightful and beautiful but then the recovery is real fucking boring and then it sort of becomes a recovery book (although maybe one of the better recovery books...along with Recovery by John Berryman) instead of a drug book...and that's why the movie Flight sucked...it could have been such a great John Goodman/ Denzel Washington drug buddy movie...yeah, I digress...but that movie is fucking horrible...stupid critics!
review 2: I sometimes got lost with where the story was at but overall, I thought it was well written. It was a more laid back prose and that made it feel more real. Like someone was actually talking to you rather than reading a book. There is a lot of repetitiveness but tha... moret's the point, isn't it? I have never been an addict of anything but listening to people who have recovered (or tried) go back and forth. less
