review 1: Not my typical kind of book to read, but I had this on my Kindle from a few years ago when I first read it. Good story with some interesting characters who eventually weave their way around to being connected with each other. The common theme was having been struck by lightning or being close to someone who was. The author was actually a lightning strike survivor herself so there is that connection as well. Really nicely drawn characters. Well worth a look.
review 2: I really, really liked this novel. The characters are written with depth and while flawed, very few are beyond redemption. One of the things that caught me was how perspective can change the view of someone. One persons villain or at a minimum enabler can be another persons hero or savior. Thi... mores is true in particular when you look at the mother/daughter vs. grandmother/granddaughter relationship in the book. I'm going to miss these characters. less
