review 1: Like others, I was expecting something different when I picked this book up. I think I was expecting a book with a clear story arc. But life isn't like that. There really wasn't much about juggling the two aspects of Brother McPheters' life. And sometimes the details of the myriad co-workers through the years was overwhelming: anecdotes and details of 30+ years with the FBI. This would, however, make the basis for a great movie, where you could pick out a couple of exciting stories and mix them with his religious and family commitments in a "beginning, middle, and end" type of story-line.
review 2: 2.5 starsI wanted to be fascinated by his FBI stories, and they were, but they got too gruesome at a point. Not graphic, just simply stating the horrid facts
... more of the criminals the FBI tracks down. Nothing bad about the book, just nothing to make me keep reading. As other reviewers have said: this book is a lot more about his FBI experiences than his handling his simultaneous bishop responsibilities. less

Great stories. Mostly FBI, with the "Mormon Bishop" getting an occasional mention.

This book was just okay. I like more detail about crimes solved.
