review 1: This was a Valentine's Day freebie from audible - it took me awhile to get to it!I liked this short story about a stalker. It was pretty clear from the outset where this was heading, but that did not detract from the story. I liked his comparison of the stalker to a disease like herpes; the stalker flared up from time to time, and although there was relief when she was gone, there was the underlying knowledge that she never went away. The author narrated his own book, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked well. Not all authors can be narrators, but he was easy to listen to.
review 2: Another Audible Valentine's freebie. This one's one-liner was "Share with the person who's in love with being in love". Since the story wound up being about his
... more stalker, that's kind of an awkward one-liner. Mishka had a woman contact him online, eventually striking up an online relationship. When it finally came time to meet in person, he was shocked to discover that the woman he thought he knew actually was a different woman he did know... and had broken up with some time earlier. Even after she revealed herself and they broke up (again), she continued to stalk him. It brought up some scary points about the ease of stalking in the modern day - Facebook, Twitter, Google all make it much easier to find information on almost everyone. The author read the audiobook. Normally I'm not a huge fan of that (turns out most authors don't narrate well), but it worked quite well for a memoir. less

Funny I listened to this right on the heels of Internet Apocalypse. It's a great pairing.
