review 1: This book came across my desk for review. I found the humor refreshing and I really appreciate the candid nature of the discussions. Also this book is far more expansive in the scope of material covered. However, I feel a lot of the dialog was added for shock value ( cover too). And I have big reservations about giving this book to teens when jokes trump source citation/credibility within the book. I'm uncomfortable with this book being written for teens about medical issues by someone who isn't a medical professional. There is a good resource list at the end, but consultation from a professional or citations within chapters would have given this book more credibility. The show does consult doctors. 2 1/2 stars.
review 2: Also read for work. A funny, informa
... moretive & non-preachy guide to sexuality and sexual health for teens of all ages and sexual orientations. Short but chock-full of great information delivered in a humorous, non-judgmental voice that teens will appreciate. The best sex guide for teens I've seen since good ole Changing Bodies, Changing Lives (which in my mind is still the gold standard, but sadly hasn't been updated since 1998). If I was a parent, I would make sure my kids got a copy of this book before they hit puberty. For more info, check out my professional review on the Teen Services Goodreads account. less
