review 1: I'd always been more interested in George and John in The Beatles, so when this book came out, I'd wanted to read it. I'm not sure what took me so long, but I read the book and then watched the documentary with the same title. The book is filled with lots of photos, letters to George's parents and other correspondence and interesting details about his relationships, his spiritual roots, gardening and guitar playing. With clips from interviews with friends, musicians and bandmates like Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Pattie Boyd, Ringo Star, Phil Spector and Tom Petty, this book takes readers through George Harrison's life. I was amazed at how generous he seemed in life. He passed away much too soon, it's a good thing his music lives on.
review 2: This was a v
... moreery good insight into the life of George Harrison. While it may not be anything mind-blowing for your average Beatles fan, it paints a nice picture of the person George truly was. There are a lot of fantastic pictures that show just about anything worth noting in his life, from his early days all the way to the end. The only flaw is that it was sometimes lacking in the text department. Overall, though, this is a comprehensive and interesting look into the life of George Harrison that was a lot of fun to read. less
