review 1: To be honest, Pat Benatar has a kind of boring life. But hear me out, I still love her music; she is a rocker. I was expecting one of those drug, sex and booze rock stories where you wonder how the artist ever managed to write and record music. Somehow I always envisioned her as a greaser type outsider during high school. However, that is not the case at all. Turns out she was a fairly typical, boy crazy girl with a tremendous gift of a voice. I am glad I read the book and would certainly recommend it to any other Pat Benatar fans, just don’t expect too much excitement. She is a special person, as the title of her last chapter says, she did her career and the book “My (her) Way”. This is a case where fact was not stranger than fiction.
review 2: P
... moreat Benatar has been a rock idol of mine since the early 80s and this book does not disappoint! Trying to be a female rocker in a man's world of the record industry was not an easy thing but Pat fought tooth and nail to be the performer she wanted be and became an inspiration she is to women everywhere. Emotional, funny, and fascinating, I just could not put this book down. Now I'm listening to her greatest hits non-stop. less

One of the best female rockers. Interesting to see the rock world from her side of the story.
