review 1: I hadn't read anyy of her previous books & mostly was curious because she's been so open with her Alzheimer's diagnosis. HHer co-writer (who had done previous book(s) with her) did a fine job of integrating pre- and post-diagnosis information plus viewpoints of others. Must say i was gulping at some of the corporal punishment handed out in her childhood home, but it was a different time and placee. She can still motivate.
review 2: As a fan of women's college basketball, the persona of Pat Summitt holds a lot of meaning. However, you only really saw the tough exterior. This book peeled back all those layers so you could understand who the real Pat Summitt was. I also appreciate the hope and acceptance she exudes when talking about her Alzheimer's diagnosis. ... moreWho knows....maybe with her tenacity they will find new ways to treat the illness. less
