review 1: The novel starts on a high note. The humour is incredible, especially the description of the scene where the protagonist is being called by his mother yet he's in the bedroom wearing make up. The visit to the temple is equally memorable. I've always wondered what South-Asian families are like since I've not read many books about them. This book gave me a sneak peak. Unfortunately, the high tempo is not sustained. The middle of the book does not feel as forceful. It becomes too verbose.
review 2: funny, original and bizarre. A tale of one boys transition from boy to teen with all the confusion, heartache and hardcore porn that comes with it! As well as this, Kieran is from an Indian culture that he feels he doesn't fit into and goes to an american school where he
... more is mocked and ridiculed for his flamboyant behaviour. The author perfectly captures this period of time in a young boys life through brilliant imagery and supersmart language. less

All through the book I kept hoping it would get better and start to make more sense. It didn't.
