Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.
Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

I loved the author other series a lot even her quite unconventional writing style but I hated the first book in this particular series. Because of this I shelved the others, so this one too. But it kept niggling in the back of my mind that maybe this one is going to be good, because everybody seems to love them. Since the other day I was in the moos for some Kristen Ashley and was out of options I gave this one a try.
Well my little demon was right about one thing this one was better than the first book in the series but still not as good as I would prefer.
The writing style is the one you know well if you ever read a book from the author. A bit hectic and nowhere near perfect, I would call it rustic but it has a certain charm and gives a really down to earth atmosphere to the stories. Kristen Ashley has some quirks writing wise I’m not the biggest fan but they are low in Rock chick rescue.
The storyline is crazy and quite unrealistic, fast and dramatic but still has more potential than the first book’s had. If I only look at the basics, the cliff notes of the storyline then it could have been amazing, exciting and emotional but the characters messed it up for me ones more.
I liked Jet quite a bit especially at the beginning. She is hard working and awkward and the best parts were her and Eddie little moments. They were funny. She is also really responsible, sometime so much so. She gets into a lot of trouble because she wants to solve everything and everyone’s problem by herself. She has a hard time to let people in. Jet character started out really great but then came Indy and her bat shit crazy, irresponsible team of girls and they messed it up. After she got in with them she started to take stupid risk and act without considering the consequences, like someone who doesn’t register the dangers around her. Yeah that’s where it went downhill for me.
Eddie is a proverbial alpha male, sexy and protective but has a sweet side to. He had his work cut out for him, with romancing Jet since she is a very closed off girl with low self esteem. But he stuck it out until the end and was an amazing and supportive partner. I liked them together, Eddie with his calm demeanor balances out Jet insane personality that rears the head in this story.
There are a lot of potential in this story, action and some great characters, but unfortunately the rock chicks crazy shit really pulled it down for me. I probably, sometime in the distant future going to read the rest of the series because the security boys all sound interesting, but I need to prepare for it beforehand.
