“I feel I no longer fit in with these times.”
Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States, was known for speaking little and having a dry sense of humor. So much so that when word of his death circulated, writer and wisecracker Dorothy Parker, according to “Enjoyment of Laughter” by Max Eastman, reportedly said “how do they know?” Coolidge died at the age of 60 from coronary thrombosis.
