review 1: Memoir about a 27 year old woman whose goal is to be like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. She is living in Manhattan and has the perfect job, perfect apartment, perfect boyfriend until he cheats on her and they break up. She is thrown into a tailspin and ends up renting a room from a non-practicing rabbi in an apartment in Brooklyn in an Orthodox Jewish area because that is all she can afford. At first I didn't really like this (self-admittedly) vain, materialistic,name-dropper. But she grew on me as the book went on. She paints a good picture of what life is like for certain types of people in NYC and I liked her smart writing style and obscure references.
review 2: I put off reading this book- the title was pretty superficial but once I started reading i
... moret , I laughed through most of the book. I read it in one day. A lost person who tries to find her way and looks outward for happiness. Loved the insider funny explanations of her real life interviews and experiences. Again could she not have come up with a better title. Would recommend it to my two twenty something nieces. less
