review 1: As a reviewer already said, this book is both a great read and a hard read. Great because it provides a thorough and honest insight into the world of depression. I learned quite a few things from the book and have gained a clear understanding of depression and what depressives go through. It's a hard read because much of it is filled with despair, it becomes a hard book to get back to reading because you know that you can't help but feel a little down when reading it. It also has its fair share of technical stuff, information from the medical world regarding depression and how it's treated. The author tries her best to explain it in layman's terms, but it still ends up sounding technical and a tad difficult for a person who has a hard time digesting academic language. I'd ... morerecommend it to anyone who wants to understand depression better. Very helpful in that respect.
review 2: I thought the author was brave to put her story out there like she did. It felt like the story jumped around a lot and it was hard to keep track of which time she was talking about. The author was very fortunate to have money set aside from the sale of a house and a well paying job. So many people suffering from severe depression don't have this. Due to this it may be difficult for people to relate to her. less
