review 1: 2.5 because the story had potential but it just got lost in delivery. All too familiar story of a working class stiff who wants to make fast money. He chooses to rob drug dealers. The "twist" (sarcasm) is that he only targets Jamaican dealers due to a familial situation. Sigh. Every thing Muscles does is allegedly done for his sisters. Yeah, ok. The number of grammatical errors was annoying (personal pet peeve) and the way the character's thoughts were part of the story just didn't sit well with me.The death wish mentality of Sasha abd her bff was absurd. The "Jamaican" accents and repeated use of "blood clot" just added to my frustration.
review 2: Muscles is left responsible for his two younger sisters after their parents die. He starts out doing things
... morelegitimately, but quickly learns that the streets of New York are host to many activities and opportunities for him to make easy money while also avenging the pains of his family history. After enlisting the support of some long time friends, he sets up an operation that is equal parts cunning and profitable, and the streets are never the same again. Lives are changed from every angle, and no one saw it coming. Shameek Speight did his usual spectacular job of storytelling here, and the happenings here are definitely not something one would anticipate or consider "run of the mill." less
