review 1: I was confused at some points, mainly about the age of Shappi who did this or that that I wouldn't expect a person of her age wouldn't do or think, but nonetheless I really enjoyed the book. It has this unexplainable feeling of family, being what it is, not all peaceful and convenient, but rather everyday-messy, noisy, crazy and illogical as humans can be. Very sad at times, and very funny at other, it´s a very warm and touching story. Especially liked the definition about being in the middle between the place you live and the place your roots are.
review 2: I thought this book was fascinating and left me a little bit ashamed of certain members of society, but for some reason it didn't really grab me and I found I could take or leave it. I didn't find it funny
... more at all but it was heart-warming and it made me like Shappi a little more and feel like I know her better. It also had many descriptions of delicious food which was nice to read but made me hungry! So in summary I would recommend this book but I was a tiny bit disappointed that it didn't fully grab me. less

So cool...loved hearing life told by an Iranian person who had relocated to England.
