review 1: Cherries in Winter is about a woman who loses her job and is trying to find ways for her and her husband to save money. She discovers her grandmother's old recipes and writings, and includes them in the book. It's a simple but sweet story of the author and her family, written in journal style, not dense, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in food, family recipes, family history, and memoirs.
