review 1: What a great active and interactive book for a young pre- or beginning-reader and an older reader to experience together! This is a playful, fun, colorful book about three cats who want you, the reader, to play with and help them on their day's adventures. This is the kind of book that's going to get loved up and show it. Fun, simple, playful, and engaging. Zelda did not want to play with this, except for trying to chew the upper right corner of the book cover.
review 2: The cats aren't on this page, but they'd like to play with you.Readers interact with Andre, Tiny, and Moonpie by turning pages/flaps that are balls of yarn, pillows, and water. The cats are very supportive, "Ooh, you're *are* good at turning pages!" and will invite you to come back and play an... moreother time. Schwartz's illustrations are simple in bright colors with collage-y bits thrown in to keep things from getting too dull. The constructions are clever, and support the text and illustrations rather than being mere tricks. Gr. PreK-1. less
