review 1: I've often wondered what it would feel like for the children of someone who has committed a horrendous murder, assassination or act of terror. Zak Ebrahim tells us - sharing his childhood belief in his father, showing how that belief crumbles and is replaced with the horror and shame of knowing his father's guilt and how he makes peace with his own place in the world, along with his choice to live a life that is not full of hatred and retaliation. An inspiring read.
review 2: This was a terrific, short book about overcoming a childhood filled with trauma, bullying, and an indoctrination of bigotry by one's parent. It's sad that he is turned off to all religion as a result, but I can certainly understand why. The story of how his mother turns from Catholocism (l... moreater mentioning after years as a Muslims that she is so tired of hating people) and how his father becomes disenfranchised and turns to a radical branch of Islam. less
