The Wordkeepers

Got ‘nother book from the library, guess what I’m gonna do with it. Read, of course! What d’you think I was gonna do? Yeah, and write a review and get a whooping 8 likes within 7 hours! That was a big one for me. Thank you so, so much, guys. I really appreciate that. Lets see how many likes this one gets.

Name: The Wordkeepers

Author: Jash Sen

Genre: Fantasy, Mythology, YA Fiction

Summary: The story revolves around Anya and Bilal. Their life turns upside-down, when they realise who they really are. And if you’re wondering, it really is bad as The Upside Down. Maybe not that bad, but you get the idea – it sucked.

The prologue starts, five thousand years ago, on the war ground of the Kurukshetra, when Krishna curses Ashwatthama, resulting in him wandering the country for 3000 years. But, of course, he’s still alive and an important part of the story.

So, long story short, there’s this group of 10 people spread across the world, called the Wordkeepers, their job is to keep the 10th avatar of Vishnu – Kalki – safe and sound. But Kali, ‘nother ancient mythological figure, is set on killing him and attaining eternal glory and life. And guess who the avatar is. You’re right, of course, I shouldn’t be giving out any spoilers as a professional critic (heehee).

Now, to our protagonists, Anya, a carefree youth faces the horrible truth when her mother, a wordkeeper, is kidnapped. Now, Anya must accept her role as the next wordkeeper and find Kalki. You must be wondering ’bout Bilal, right? As the perfect critic, that I am, I’ll say this – read the book and find out. HAHAHA I’m a horrible person.

Rating: I’d give it 4 stars. I mean, did you see the cover page. Gosh, it literally killed me! Maybe I’m exaggerating, but seriously, the cover looks bomb. And it was one of the book I couldn’t stop reading. One of the other reasons that I liked this book was because it’s about the Indian mythology, which is a crazy, crazy thing. There’s like so much stuff happening in the myths that I’m actually fascinated by the fact that someone had the brains to get this kind of an idea and actually publish it with a cover page that looks amazing. I still can’t get over it. So, yeah.

PS: I’m sorry about how many links I’ve had to include in this post. If I’d’ve had to write all that it would have taken me ages to get to the point. BTW, thank you, Wikipedia. (Thought that’d be polite).

And, no, your eyes have not deceived you, this is another consecutive post.
