review 1: Okay, hands up: I'm a huge sci-fi geek, always have been, from Star Trek to Battlestar G, hell -- to loving listening to physicist Proffesor Brian Cox -- so this had me tittering more than a few times (fluttering wormholes...). It doesn't matter how serious you take the subject on the whole, for those with a playful sense of humour, it's good to step outside and just read some fine fun, mischief, and downright poke-until-you-giggle authorship.It's part of Love Landscape's free reads and definitely does the prompt all its justice. review 2: Listen, you guys, just read this silly, fun, sweet, highly imaginative, sexy, deliciously alien story. Do it!We're dropped right into the middle of Igor and Jax's "mission", which also means we're dropped... more right into the mix of Igor and Jax. Their personalities, the way the relate and react to each other, and the level at which they care about and can get under each other's skin are all quickly established in ways that feel organic, not forced. Definitely one of the more difficult tricks of writing a good short story. And that's what this is, a good short story.The imagery is vibrant, the dialogue natural and the smexy times are smexy.I like the easy way with which different beings and cultures are woven throughout.There's a level of emotion here, as well. We experience it between Igor and Jax, as well as in actions they each perform. It's wonderful seeing these through their eyes each time.Enjoy the references, I certainly did. :)This world, these characters, this writing could - and should!!! - all be explored in more and lengthier stories.Pleeeeeeease? ;) :D less
