review 1: This book was funny. But not terribly clever. There were good parts about it: a character with pretty realistic-seeming OCD, a female love interest who was actually interesting and had some substance, and a painfully but realistically nerdy crew of high school guys. But the plot structure felt like it came right out of a book called "Novel Writing for Dummies." The plot can be summed up as such: boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy starts to get to know girl and work on his OCD in order to try to be more normal so that girl will like him, but then something happens and boy offends girl, boy believes like is over and stops all OCD treatment leading to a quick downward spiral, boy decides to get himself together for one last stand, boy impresses himself and the girl and ends ... morehigh school covered in mud and going camping. Funny and good, but not terribly interesting.
review 2: Questo è un romanzo scritto bene, che emoziona e che ti fa legare ai personaggi tanto da starci male quando gli va male, da sorridere con loro e quando si giunge verso la fine e si capisce che Chuck ce la farà resti sorpreso comunque per il finale decisamente originale che è capace di regalarti questo straordinario autore. Molti scrittori italiani dovrebbero decisamente imparare come si scrive un libro con questi temi: bene, senza usare descrizioni superficiali, termini superficiali, ma tanta professionalità anche quando il tema trattato è l'adolescenza. Consigliato veramente a tutti, grandi e piccoli. Chuck è e resterà un eroe. Bravo Aaron. less
