review 1: Daren's recovery took so long, but as it was developed so well,I really enjoyed it,and Sebastian!he is so caring and kind.I'm sure if the book was made into a movie the track would be "a real human being and a real hero".My problem with this book: I wanted a surprise at the end!my problem is not with the "unfinished end" because I think sometimes that's what makes a story so special, but with the kinda expected way that it ends!with all the ups and downs that they had to go through to finally get where they wanted, the end was exactly what I was expecting.except the part that Rachael and agent Kim got into the plane with them.
review 2: This is a great free story about a good Samaritan taking care of a stranger in his moment of need. Sebastian was looking for some
... moreone to bring home with him for the night. He found it, but not in the way he expected. The cute guy he thought had skipped out of the bar was actually brutally beaten in the bathroom and left there, where Sebastian finds him. Unwilling to go to a hospital or have the cops called, and rather than leave him there, Sebastian takes the young man home and uses what medical training he received through the Navy to nurse the young man back to some semblance of health, even though he really can't afford it. It's a few days before he finds out who the young man is or why he was beaten, and when Sebastian finds out, it's much bigger than he knows how to deal with, and Daren is part of a world he knows nothing about. But first he's got to get Daren on the mend, and that's going to take weeks. By the time Daren is up and moving, Sebastian is more smitten than he ought to be with his "patient", with no idea what to do next. Between them, they have to figure out the next move to keep them both alive and safe... from Daren's own rich and famous family connections. The vast majority of this story takes place in Sebastian's apartment as he is nursing Daren back to health. The very beginning of it takes place where they met, and there are a few outside scenes at the end. But that doesn't mean it's not entertaining. I was drawn in quickly to the story. There were a few bad typos that annoyed me (I wish I'd had the chance to proof it before it was released for the anthology, but life such as it is, I didn't. Sorry!), but definitely no where near enough to keep me from reading it through. It's a HFN more than an HEA ending. They end up on the run. There's easily room for a sequel here, and I would LOVE to read one, free or not.Great addition to the Love Is Always Write anthologies, and an author I would like to read more from. 4.5 stars, rounded down until I determine re-readability. =) less

It was too slow at first, at 25% the plot picked up and I enjoyed it a lot.
