review 1: A quick read into the various steps involved in planning a wedding. Tomine explores the frustration of everything from creating creative, intricate wedding invites that people receive in the mail only to glance at to the cost of getting a DJ. Tomine's book is what he and his wife gave as their favor at their wedding. This book gave me insight into the costly reality of planning a wedding. I liked the subtle critique of the American expectation to have a wedding extravaganza, distracting from the celebratory event of uniting two people for life.

... moreished this book and didn't really feel anything for it. This is my second Adrian Tomine and I have to say despite wanting to I didn't like either of them so I think maybe his work is just not for me. less
