review 1: Damn !!! I've had this book in my library for a couple months. I cannot believe I read other mediocre series,...and this awesome book was in my Library for two months! One of the best books about love, sisterhood, and so very hot! Cane is cockey in the beginning but man is he great. I don't want to give too much away but this is a phenomenal read. First time reading anything from this author highly recommend! Please write about Max and Jada's sister.
review 2: I won this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I'm not sure if I'd give this a solid 4 stars or if I'd go more 3.5. I did like the book, but there were a few things that got me a little frustrated. The two main characters were well written. Jada is a newly divorced woman who is trying t
... moreo get past the wounds from her failed marriage. A marriage that had a lot of emotional & verbal abuse. She wants to leave the life of walking on egg shells behind, but is morning the loss of what she thought was supposed to be her HEA. I liked how Adriana wrote her as someone who is trying to find her strength but also how she backslides some. It's true to life everyone has there strengths & weaknesses. Than of course there's Cane total alpha playboy just out for a good time. Likes to hit it & quit it. They get introduced through Jada's sister Kari & Cane's best friend Max who happens to be dating Kari. I loved these 2 side characters & am so happy that they are getting there own book. Max almost stole the show a few times ☺️. Anyways back to Jada & Cane. Cane being the cocky guy he is automatically sets his sights on Jada & thinks he can get her to hook up than just move on. But things don't go his way because Jada isn't about one night stands & she's trying to change things she sees as patterns in her life. As Cane pursues her than pulls away once he starts to get to know her & realizes that she's not the hit it & quit it type & he knows that he's not the relationship type. Here's where we start to see the growth in his character as he struggles with what he wants & trying to do the right thing. Of course while he's having these struggles poor Jada is getting whiplash from his hot & cold behavior. I enjoyed all this part of the story & than the evolution of them falling in love. Adriana did a good job interweaving their backstories that it felt like we were getting to know them at the same time they were getting to know each other. And it wasn't over detailed to detract from Cane & Jada. What started to throw me was the amount of conflict & drama that was thrown in their path to sabotage their relationship. I at first liked the intrigue that was involved with the Simon Powers issue but than it got a little much. Than you throw in exes showing up on both sides & of course the lack of communication between the 2 MCs & secrets & it started to drag. I think the one nemesis would've been just fine. But than again that's just me. The overall writing, growth of all the characters & flow of the story was good. I look forward to seeing where Adriana takes Max & Kari. I am glad that I got a chance to read this book & get introduced to these characters. I'd say this is a fairly strong start to a debut author. So I guess I'm gonna restart & say that I give this a solid 4 stars. less
