Vampyres of Hollywood
review 1: After three murders hit Hollywood, Detective Peter King searches for this madman. What he doesnt realize is that all these killings have one thing in common: The three victims are all linked to Ovsanna Moore, an actess of gore and owner of a Hollywood stuido. What most people dont know, save for her assistant, is that she is a 500-and-something year old vampire and head of the Vampyres of Hollywood. Detective King finds himsel attracted to Ms. Moore, but is then doubting himself when he finds himself suspecting Ovsanna of the killings. When Ovsanna is captured by the true Killer, King must save her. Of course, vampires are hard to kill when you are nothing but a human. Well writen, and by one of my favorite authors. He creates a vampire that i prefer and not some angst rid... moreden teenage vampire. These are vicious and actually drink blood, in the mos exotic, and horrific ways. A good vampire book to read when nothing else is working out for you, and with enough comedy and great plot line to keep yours eyes pinned to the pages!
review 2: I’m a little confused with my feelings about this book. I know I shouldn’t really expect a lot from vampire novel – let’s face the truth, they usually suck, but this one started really nicely.I liked this feeling I got when I was reading first chapter – talking about murders without any emotions. Then, it got only worse.Authors had amazing idea of writing – one chapter is from vampire view, one from policeman, but they pretty messed it up by repeating actions that happened in last art in next one. It wouldn’t be bad, if chapters were long – but it really bothered me.Also, they tried to be original with changing all facts about vampires, but, every writes does so. Nothing special. It usually annoys me when I read long descriptions in books (I got this bad feeling after reading school books anyway). I can’t focus on them and it makes me angry – but I missed them in this one. It had some amazing fight scenes, but… They were like, two lines. Not enough!Every paranormal book needs some romance, right? I guess that there was one (or two). Pretty between main characters,, but… Again, this “two lines” thing. It just happened, boom. What annoyed me the most? Throwing names of oldies from Hollywood, all the time. I think that authors thought that we know all of them, but I had to check some – because without knowing their faces I couldn’t have proper image of some things.Anyway, big plus for being brave enough to put few girlxgirl scenes there (not +18 rated, don’t worry :P)But it was an easy-read, nice for evening. Few things bothered me but it was still a pleasure for me, even though I listed so many bad things. I’m just really sad all novel wasn’t as good as the begging. Will I read next book in this series? Why not! It’s not a long one. I just hope it will be better – I’m not complaining. I just feel like I want some more. Book would be shorter if authors didn’t repeat these actions, I know – but I didn’t really care about seeing them from two points of view. But if it was only a way to make it a little longer, they could do it by developing some plots more. Just saying. My rating: 3 stars – neutral. Mostly because I’m disappointed after such a good start. less

New take on vampires. Since the vampires wrote the movies, everything we know about them is wrong.

pretty good book. It was one of those I bought because of the cover!

A fun, stylish, hip and surprisingly effortless romp.
