review 1: Before I decided to become an endocrine surgeon, a general surgeon, a medical student, a college student, I wanted to be foremost a racecar driver. That desire still burns in me, and this book is kindle for a fire. I'm a novice when it comes to racing history, and this book is a great introduction to an amazing rivalry that spanned a decade between Ford and Ferrari. Showered with anecdotes, Ferrari and Ford come to life as they battle for racing supremacy, all the while many talented drivers pay the ultimate price for a sport they love. It truly was the golden age of racing!
review 2: Very well-written and engaging overview of the legendary Henry Ford II vs. Enzo Ferrari battle for Le Mans in the mid-60s. If you're truly a car person, there's probably not
... moremuch new here. But if, like me, you have at best a casual interest in auto racing and the history thereof, there's a lot to be learned. It's an epic tale of two giants of the auto industry with personal grudges, slugging it out to be fastest. less
