review 1: The reader advisory said mid-level violence. For me it was extreme violence. I never read or watch violence intentionally. The violent scene was well done. It made me feel the fear and panic of the victim.Overall, this story by a first-time writer was very well written. It kept my attention, and there were no cliched roles in the relationship, although one of the characters was a twink and the other one a bodyguard. Feelings, and the insecurity when you don't know if the other person feels the same way, were described well. There was realism to the story, as it was shown that both the main characters suffered from PTSD after the violence. There was also surprising depth as certain things in society were criticized. That raised this story somewhat above the average romance ... morestory. There was a longish sex scene in the end that I didn't really need for this story, but on the other hand that was one of the non-cliched places in the story, and as such well done.I would encourage this writer to go on writing!
review 2: Hey, Ali. Being from TX, living on ranches much of my life, I've actually had my arm in a cow cunt. So, I got a great visual on Agent Fat and Homophobic. Anyway, loved the story, loved not only Nick, but Joe as well. Short stories, by nature, can't be everything to everyone but as for myself, I loved this one. I hope you get back to writing on a more regular basis soon. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! less

Loved this story. The suspense was just right. I knew that he would rescue his Nicky.
