review 1: Ah - Seattle the Emerald City. I found most of this book to be as depressing as Seattle's weather and the Mariners. The plot reminded me a little of "Its a Wonderful Life" only with Clarence becoming the focus of the story after he prevents George Bailey from ending it all. Throw in some Faust and the struggle between good and evil at the end and you have an endearing love story that is not only unbelievable, but cheesey as well. Perhaps, I should have given this book only one star. review 2: Heavily influenced by Twilight, but not quite as much my sort of book. Olivia is suffering from deep depression brought on by her mother's self-inflicted passing and her own largely self-imposed isolation. When she is saved from a similar death by a passing neighbor sh... moree's never seen before, the road is long before her. She has to decide to recover her life or change it completely. Lots of yearning, not much plot, not much depth to the characters and over written. Could have made a great short story, had it been better edited. Not a bad book, just over long. Maybe just not where I was to be when I read it. Maybe you'll enjoy it. less
