review 1: Loved this book!!!WOW! This book had it all!!! Banter galore, loved it, laughed through most of the book. It also had Texas alpha Jake and friends, mix in the mafia, murder, and put a city girl into the protection program far in the backroads of a farm to hide out and let the games begin or in their case (I mean fumes, flames, fireworks begin) Jake & Emily two finery hot tempers go at it through the entire book and every time all you want them to do is get a room and hope they don't have guns or someone might get hurt!A brilliant read didn't want to put it down and the banter was absolutely brilliant! review 2: 4 starsWell that was a different take on the whole witness protection program. Honestly I feel like some people would get turned off by some unusual pra... morectices here but I think that's what makes the story something else. To me I found the twist of things fun, I realize its a serious thing but its like I put ot under take it not seriously. A romcom of sorts Id call it, between bodyguard and witness with constant bickering.Emily is feisty, smart ass and welllll not the easiest kind of witness. Its unfortunate events on her part and she's just naturally uppity and that just sparks a bigger fire. Jake is serious, rule following agent, a bit surly and not all fun and games. Together oh boy the bickering is constant, but it's hilarious and somewhat inappropriate. I mean every scenario is something else, the funny sidekicks and interesting characters. Honestly Emily and Jake might be the unlikely pair but the chemistry is hard to miss. I mean if you dont care such arguements whatnot wont matter as much. But you see the good moments and know they poke each other to get a reaction.Well the ending was fast, it wrapped it up but I felt like it could have been not as rushed to conclude. Im not sure if it would have the same spunk if it had been slower but it just went boom right away since build up was slower. Still if you want a easy not too serious light read this is it. To me it didnt have a debut author feel too. The writing flowed well. I enjoyed this one I liked the added suspense and smart comebacks. less
