review 1: Strobel paints regular people who make mistakes, lots of them. Yet God shines through her books perfectly in character--compassionate, present, rescuing. She nails the mid twenties and new marriage. She shuttles the reader into the heart of bipolar disease with grace and kindness. I came away from the book, aching for those who struggle with mental illness and resolved to love them better. 4.5 Stars
review 2: Thanks to Goodreads and Alison Strobel for the opportunity to read this book. I'm from NE, so my initial desire to read it came from that connection to the story. My mother suffered from mental health issues, so this was a tough read. Not only is mental illness difficult for those experiencing it, but it is just as difficult for their families. It is h... moreard to watch a loved one hurt and not be able to fix what is hurting them. Thanks for a book that addresses this topic and gives others an insight into this very real and frustrating illness. less
