Agree that it is hard to follow all of the people involved in the book, but still an enjoyable read.
Such an interesting way to learn a bit of art (and world) history, and extremely well written.
Magnificent. And the painting is in the Neue Galerie in NY for all to see.
I read several of the reviews, and could agree w/ most of them.
Excellent book; history which reads like a novel!
