This is the origin story of Rain. Either start the series here or read it to see how it all started.
Great read. I'm usually leery of prequels. This one revealed a lot of what John Rain is about.
I really like the John Rain character. I'll read Eisler again, for certain.
Really fantastic and satisfying.
I'm glad I read this book first.
