OK, I didn't like the storyline that much but I loved the recipes and plan to make several of them. I think I will stick to the mysteries that have recipes in them rather than listen to a list of Giulia's failed relationships. She wonders why - she gives away way to much way too quickly. I listened to the CD while cleaning house and cooking and found my mind wandering at some points in the story and paying closer attention to the recipes. I hope trying out some of her tips makes me a better cook.
Gave it a 3 because I read this in audio format and found the constant reading of recipes to be very distracting. Maybe that works in a hard copy format but someone should have given that a thought before they recorded it for audio. You can't copy down the recipes, if you should wish to do so, because it goes by too fast. Stopping and backing up is awkward. Not a pleasant experience, all in all. And the memoir itself was just OK.
It was an ok story; good recipes; however, they did get distracting when trying to read.
Too much like my life and depressing but otherwise good.
What's not to love about a book that includes recipes!!
