I would give this book a 3.5. It's a wonderful summer read, especially if one has no summer travel plans. You can go to Ireland through this book. The story is pretty predictable and not any doubt where it is going. But the author has a nice gift for making you see the green hills, the cliffs and hear the sea. Serious literature it is not but I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who likes a romance or wants to experience a bit of Ireland.
What a wonderful book! I have been to Ireland before, and after reading Lace Makers I want to go again. Lace Makers stayed true to the Irish people and their culture.I loved this book, the characters, the setting and the plot. It drew me in from the beginning and kept me until the end. I couldn't wait to finish it and yet at the same time hated for it to end.I recommend it highly.
2.5 stars. I loved the description of the Irish village, but the storyline didn't draw me in.
very sweet book! Ireland is definitely on my "to visit" list :-)
Not too bad, some parts predictable. All and all a good read.
