Interesting aliens. The tech was too magic for my tastes (the term Hollywood-style AI came to mind).
It just got tedious. I did not finish it. I tried got about 2/3 of the way.
Great story of man first contact experience that goes awry.
Great hard science fiction.
Intense and complex.
