I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read, with a lot of action. Though it had been awhile since I read the Poison Study series, so I had to refresh my memories on that trilogy's plot line. The main character, Opal, alternated between being real for me, and needing a smack upside the head. At times her 'woe is me, I can't do anything' attitude grated. It was nice to see a sprinkling of the main characters from the previous books as well. I'm also a little confused by Kade's sudden proposal of love. The two characters barely exchanged words when they met! Seemed a little fast to me.All in all, I will be reading the next one, just to see where it goes. I hope my interest level doesn't peter out like the Poison Study's did.
It's not bad. It's not that good either. There is a lot going on, A LOT. Opal is cool, She is a bit stupider, a bit less kick ass, a bit less brave and over all a lot less cool that Yelena. Kade is great, I actually like him as much as Valec except that we hardly see him. Ulrick is just terrible. Over possessive, over protective, Over boring. Opals, magic is really interesting, More interesting that Yelena's actually, and that's what saves this book, the problem is overall it's just following the algorithm of the study series too closely for my liking. It doesn't seem new it just seems like the same old stuff happening over and over again.
OF COURSE I WANNA READ IT I HAVE THE SAME NAME AS THE MAIN CHARACTER
