I was determined to read the whole series and I made it. Honestly, it was a bit of a chore. Something about Scott's writing style just doesn't resonate with me. I often fell asleep while reading, and during action parts. I liked a lot of the characters, plot twists, and mythology, but I never came to love any of them or the books. In this book in particular, I got really annoyed with the fight on the bridge, it didn't make any sense whatsoever. For instance, let's hold a whole conversation letting our enemy know exactly where we are and use no strategy whatsoever. (eyeroll) I found the whole vimana/flying saucer thing a bit goofy. But, the reveal of Death's identity was fascinating if sad, and pulled a lot of the story together.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was the feeling it was a bit rushed. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the ending, though it blew me out of the water, it left me feeling somewhat sad because I was hoping for more of a closure with the twins in the ending. Because there was more of Josh in the ending, Sophie never really got to say how she felt about how things ended. All in all the series is now one of my favourites and I recommend it to those who are a fan of mythology.
I enjoyed this book. Resolution was a bit quick and could have wrapped up with a bit more detail.
Such a great explosive ending to a great series
