3.5 stars. I don't think I'm ever going to love this series, but I may keep reading it a little longer. This was probably the best in the series to-date - Jane was significantly less annoying. If the series had started here and continued to get better, I'd be more pleased. As it is, there are still some writing quirks that aren't working for me (tone/voice of the series is maturing, but still a little child-like for my taste). Also, apparently this book was brought to you by the word "libido" as it was used pretty much every other page. Not as in Jane having lots of sex, but as in her libido talking to her. *facepalm* JUST enough was hinted at & revealed that I want to read more to find out what happens next (and I don't hate it enough to completely drop it - although I was teetering on complete indifference through most of this book). I think I'll see what the library has to offer for the next in this series.
I have to say, I'm very happy I listened to a friend of mine who told me I should stick with this series. This book was so much better than the first two! A big reason for that in my opinion is that Ryu is not in it much. I've never liked him, and I definitely didn't miss him here. The plot started off quickly and honestly never really let up. I kept finding myself wanting to read just one more chapter before going to bed. For someone in their third trimester who really just wants to sleep all the time, that's definitely saying something lol. I'll definitely be reading book 4!
I really wish I didn't hate these covers.
