Loved this book! I couldn't stop reading it, though I had other things I was doing while reading it!
The beginning was sort of hokey, but it got much better. Hooked on the series.
Some novel worldbuilding. Reminds me strongly of Diana Wynne Jones.
Definitely plan on reading the rest of the series (eventually)
