It's funny, but so many people say they loved this story and that the other two didn't live up to it. Personally, while I liked Porter, I didn't see why anyone would put this above the other two stories. This is maybe a beauty and the geek story, where the roles of beauty and geek are gender reversed. Nikki, of course, is very unexciting to Porter at first, but once he really sees her, he can't get enough. And because she's heard him make not-very-flattering comments about her, she's hard pressed to see him as genuinely wanting her and not just wanting her to stay in town to be the doctor in Sweetness.Overall, not a bad story, but I didn't think it lived up to the hype other readers tried to say it did. Or maybe just didn't think it was far and above the other two books. A decent read and I'll read more of her stuff at some point.
I finished reading 'Baby, Drive South' just minutes before midnight last night. What a great read. I absolutely loved it. This is the first book in the Southern Roads Trilogy by Stephanie Bond. There's also a prequel, 'Baby, I'm Yours,' which you'll probably want to read first. This is a series about the three Armstrong brothers, Marcus, Kendall and Porter, who are in the process of rebuilding their hometown of Sweetness, Georgia which was destroyed by an F-5 tornado ten years before. The brothers are to-die-for hunks who have a hard time falling in love. I don't want to give away any more of the story. Just read this series. I guarantee you'll love it.
I love the innocence of the Town. It is setting ip to be a great series.
