def not as good as the hbo series. too slow and not enough emotion being shown.
Wooden characters. Preposterous plot. No sense of place. Pedestrian writing.
The book started off great and ended...just ended. Such a disappointment.
3.5 stars, probably his best work since Little Children.
could of been so much better
