Technically 3.5 stars, but I am feeling stingy today :PI enjoy detective and adventure books. That said, I wouldn't have usually picked up a romantic novel even if it was a mystery type of book. However this isn't a flimsy porn-type book - there's an actual story here. Yes, it has sex and romance but it isn't overloaded with it and the adventure element is exciting. It hooks you from the beginning and you instantly like the characters, they were fun and engaging and the premise of the story was good and gave a solid start off point for the series... but I did find a few things annoying. Most important of which: the main character Beth meets her hero one lovely morning, and within 24h she is in love with a fully developed psychic bond to her future husband. I really dislike book that have relatable characters but completely out-of-the-sky expectations. Seriously, when did the romance disappear from romantic erotica? :(
