review 1: The book Lovely was focused on a girl named Alice. When you first begin to read Lovely, you think it is going to be a sweet story about a teenage girl. Well that though is wrong. Alice is this teenage girl who lives in a home that is not stable and she believes her parents have a hate for her. Throughout the book she is engaged in fights between her and her mother or her and her father. She is mistreated at her house by her father and is pretty much bullied by her mother. The only person she has to turn to is her best friends Krista and Lisa. Going through the book, Alice suffers from harming herself with a razor blade. Sad but she feels this is the only way to feel better. Her battles with her parents become worse and she looks for a way out. The only way she sees is to f... moreake her death and to run far away from were she is now and to never return.As she writes her fake suicide note, the book seems to be predictable. The end doesn't play out like you would think. Alice's life changes for the better, but not the same way that she intends. (214) She finds herself loving life and in a happier place now that she found a new home. She loves the life she is living and couldn't be happier. Alice will never be the same ever again.
review 2: I liked the book but it was really depressing. I still liked it in a way but the only thing that was holding me back from giving this book a five star rank was the ending. In my mind I was hoping that she would meet the love of her life and then move in with him(I like romance). I also didn't understand why her parents did that to Alice. Other than those two things I liked the book. Read it if you don't mind depressing books.:) less
